Welcome back readers!

Welcome back to school to my fabulous reading friends!

I hope you had a relaxing vacation and also remembered to read! I was excited to complete 6 adult novels and also help my son participate in the library's summer reading program. We also had the fun opportunity to visit Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan. As a lover of children's books, I was filled with excitement as I explored the awesome (and free!) displays. If you get the chance to go, I'd highly recommend it!

There are a lot of exciting activities happening at Jefferson this year. One of the best ways to get back into the groove of a successful school year is to come to our Parenting for School Success meetings. I will be helping to facilitate these meetings with teachers from Walker and Jefferson school. Topics that parents can learn about will be reading/writing, technology, math, and conflict resolution.  These meetings take place in the Jefferson gym from 6:00-7:30 pm on 9/12, 9/19, 9/26, and 10/3. Free childcare is available along with the chance to win awesome prizes!

The Six Flags reading program, a Read to Bounce program through Bounce Realm, therapy reading dogs, and Read for the Record are all just a few of the great programs we have planned for our Jefferson Bears to continue to enjoy reading this year. Let's make this year a year full of books, books, and more books!
